Too many of us look at procrastination as part of our inheritance, as cooked into our DNA as the color of our eyes or the size of our feet. Not so! We all procrastinate—yes all of us!—but we are also all capable of not procrastinating. The key is to set small, achievable goals. Instead of saying to yourself one hour at the gym or bust, why not promise yourself to take a five minute walk? Maybe then you’ll find another five minutes. Then another. Instead of trying to cook healthy meals for yourself every night, cut yourself some slack one night a week and pick up a pre-made salad at the store. More importantly, when you beat your procrastination, reward yourself.
