Your mindset, when it comes to keeping up with any of these tasks we suggest, is critical. You can either say, “I can’t do this,” or “I can do this.” Science tells us that those, like the little blue engine in the children’s book The Little Engine Who Could, who say, “I think I can, I think I can, I think I can…” actually...can!
Another thing to keep in mind: something is always better than nothing. If you can’t do thirty minutes of exercise today, five or ten minutes is better than zero. If you slip up and eat something bad for your body and brain today, that does not mean you can’t eat better tomorrow. If you forget to write in your sleep journal one night, that doesn’t mean the whole enterprise is shot. We are all human. Your job is to keep trying.
